High school level of knowledge. Associate's Degree would be desirable. One or more years experience in network and system programming skills. Experience on current Windows operating system. Approximately twelve months on-the-job experience to become familiar with HCIS and micro- computer applications, hardware, and operating systems. Develop analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Become knowledgeable of Samaritan Medical Center policies and procedures. Must be able to demonstrate an ability to organize, plan and control a project within a set time frame. Work entails leading, assigning work to and following up on the work of others. Also must be able to work with assignments often received in the form of results expected, due dates, and general procedures to follow. Must be able to work with minimum supervision and within established procedural and verbal guidelines and to exercise independent judgment when situations present themselves outside of these guidelines. Instructional skills necessary to assist users of the HCIS system and micro-computer systems. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with fellow SHS staff members at all levels. Also, with representatives of software/hardware computer companies. Analytical skills necessary in order to gather, examine and interpret data and to identify and resolve problems and program needs. Ability to work in an environment that manages confidential patient, employee, and financial information. Ability to concentrate, pay close attention to detail, and visual effort. MCSE certification within two years of hire. EOE
